Motor bike adventure...

Today we hired some motor bikes....I rode with mum and Coby rode with dad.  We had to stop and get petrol from little stores along the way. They sold the petrol in alcohol bottles for $1. See the boy pouring it into the tank.

We stopped at a little truck where a man made roti prata...its like a pancake with banana and nutella in it.

There was a really cute little girl sitting there too and I played with her

That night we had dinner at the beach... they were selling fireworks and we set off one each....

Coby found a crab...

Sunny and Sonny

This is the view from our bungalow.

They have quite a few tree huts along the beach...people climb up into them and read their books and sometimes sleep

This is our friend Sonny he has just started his own cafe on the beach.  We loved what he made and had fruit smoothies two days in a row.

We think is cafe is the best on the beach so we told him he should put it on trip advisor so others find out about him too....we said we are happy to be the first people to rate him "excellent"

Island snorkling

Last night stayed on an island called Ko Rong Sanloem. Its about an hour from the mainland and we got there on a ferry

We stayed in a little round hut beside the beach - no air con so it was super hot... we had to sleep with wet sarongs over us just to stay cool....and even cold showers in the middle of the night

We went on a snorkling trip with a 12
year old boy called Masae  and he was good

Mum really got into it too
P.S. I tried to do a backflip off the boat and failed!

Today we met some cool young women called Gabriella (from Sweden) and Rebecca (from Switzerland) on the beach....and we talked about lots of stories about travelling.

Hot on the beach

Today we flew to the coast to a place called Sihanoukville.  Its got a few beaches and we stayed at Otres Beach 2.  The temperature was about 35 and the water was so hot that it didn't even refresh you!

There were lots of people walking along the beach selling little things like sunglasses, bracelets, massages and food like octopus, squid and shrimps.

We then took a ferry to the islands - on the boat we met Natalie and Peter from Sweden...

New friends at the New Hope Project

Today we went to New Hope in the middle of Siem Reap.  Its kind of like the Zoe programme but the children were safer.  Its a free school for people that don't have a lot of money.

I met a girl that spoke a little english and I taught her the peaknuckle game.  She was a bit shy at the start but then loved it and fiesty - we had heaps of laughs!

We were so lucky to stay at an amazing place called Laysung Boutique - it was down a few really narrow dirt tracks but once we got there it was amazing and we felt very lucky to be able to stay here

This photo is of the cool staff at the hotel - the second from the left was our reception person, the chef, the pool fixer and the tuktuk driver.....amazing!

Exploring the temples

We got up before 5 in the morning because we wanted to watch the sun rise over a huge temple called Angkor Wat in Cambodia.  It is one of the  biggest temples in the world.

We had a guide called Chanada and he told us where the best entrances were - especially the ones that the crowds didnt know :)

One temple had trees growing all over it - the guide told us that is where they filmed a movie called Tomb Raider with a famous actress called Angelina Ballerina (whoops - Jolie ha ha)

Lots of the temples had really steep stone steps - we had to climb up with our hands and feet and its was a bit scary coming down.

Monkeys were a bit scary as they do bite if they see food in your hand - we threw our bananas to them and then jumped back in the van

We also met some cool kids who were hanging out with their parents in the shops near the temples - they were so little and light....we had lots of laughs with them
